Whalley is 1 of the original Surrey neighbourhoods, named after Whalley's Corner at King George & 108 Ave. As an MLS area & residential identity, it covers a broader footprint than just Surrey City Centre: roughly between 96 Ave & 116 Ave from King George Blvd west to 132 St, including the older detached pockets north of 96 Ave that surround the Surrey City Centre tower district.

By car, Highway 1 is 5 to 8 minutes via 152 St or 156 St. The R1 RapidBus on King George Blvd & the 96 B-Line on 96 Ave provide frequent secondary transit spines connecting to both SkyTrain stations & to Guildford Town Centre. Real-world drive times: 8 to 12 minutes to Guildford, 25 to 35 minutes into downtown Vancouver via Highway 1 + Highway 99 off-peak (slower than SkyTrain), & 15 to 25 minutes to Burnaby Metrotown.
